The New Surf Club in Punta Mita

Last week I was invited to visit El Surf Club in Punta Mita with my family. If you’ve never been there before, Punta Mita is one of Mexico’s most prestigious residential communities and resort destinations and it’s just a short drive from the Puerto Vallarta airport. Its 1500-acre spear-shaped peninsula is surrounded on three sides by white sand beaches and tropical flora and gives home to golf courses, beautiful residences, The Four Seasons and St. Regis hotels and of course their super fun and luxurious beach clubs.
El Surf Club is their newest addition and it’s located in a beach called La Lancha which is famously known for its big waves, ideal for surfing. Since we arrived, we were impressed by its casual yet sophisticated design, which they call '“barefoot luxury”. We were welcomed by their very friendly staff who guided us to our five beach lounge chairs overlooking the beautiful and consistent big waves.
We started our day relaxing by the beach with delicious margaritas and mocktails for the kids. Then we jumped into the ocean to enjoy the big waves and had so much fun with the boogie boards. The snacks we ordered by the beach were delicious, we had the Ceviche, a Guacamole with Totopos and the Aguachile de Camarón.
Then my youngest daughter decided to borrow a surfboard and give it a try, she’s taken lessons before but never with waves this big. She had so much fun and was even able to catch a very good one after many tries.
To finish our wonderful day on a high note, we had a delicious meal at their restaurant and enjoyed their mouth-watering Cheeseburger, the Sushi Bowl, and the Arrachera and Zarandeado Fish tacos. Of course, I couldn´t leave without having their Churros served with a chocolate and cajeta sauce to dip them in, and their chocolate cake.
