Strong Voices: Washington DC with Responsibility.org

Last week, I had the incredible experience of visiting Washington DC, thanks to Responsibility.org. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would become a US Citizen, let alone one day enter the Capitol to meet my representatives.

Responsibility.org is an organization I have been working with for several years to spread their strong and compelling message: Prevent underage alcohol consumption, and for adults who choose to drink, to have the tools to do so responsibly.

It was very exciting to visit Senator John Cornyn's office, where I had a profound conversation on this topic with Alaura Ervin, the senator's legislative assistant.

I met amazing individuals who support the cause, such as Tara Engel from Pernod Ricard, Kelly Poulsen, SVP of government relations, LP O'Brien, Anthony Polcari, and Dr. Lisa Damour, a New York Times best-selling author specializing in child and teenage development.

The best part was sharing this experience with extraordinary content creators from other states and celebrating together a very successful day responsibly.

Many thanks to Senator Cornyn's office for helping us spread the word on this important message, thanks to Julie for helping me navigate this government world, and to Leslie, Erin, Katie, and Monica for this wonderful experience that left me feeling so empowered and proud to represent the Hispanic community in this important issue.

I’m a #teamresponsibility ambassador and I was compensated for my post, but all opinions and photographs are my own.
