Breaking the Mold of the Typical Italian Restaurant

Today I want to tell you about Arthur Ave, an Italian restaurant located in the Heights that’s a departure of what the Houston gastronomic community is used to. It offers a fresh approach and Yo Mariana highly recommends it.

The menu they offer is prepared with top-quality fresh ingredients that give its dishes a delicious flavor and texture. I went there this week and I had the 187th Street Pizza and the Fusilli Alfredo. Both dishes were really tasty thanks to the special touch of lemon zest that was sprinkled on top that gave both, the pizza and the Alfredo sauce, a fresh, fragrant and distinctive touch.

The reason why I say this restaurant breaks the mold is because even though it may seem they offer the typical Italian menu, the combination of ingredients, the form they prepare it and their special homemade garlic seasoning, give their dishes great originality.

The decoration and architecture of the place, also differentiates it from the typical red-checkered table cloth Italian restaurant, since this is a small, cozy place surrounded by brick walls and an extensive bar that gives its guests a New York feel.

So if you’re looking for a place to dine this weekend, Arthur Ave. will be the perfect place to decompress after a long week. You’ll be able to enjoy a delicious pizza or pasta accompanied by your drink of choice, in my case – a Martini.

Cheers and have a great weekend!
